How to Draw Animal Faces

The animal world is full of diversity.
Cartoonists have caricaturized the animals in a variety of ways.
The rat, the cat, the dog, the wood pecker, the road runner, the kayote and the bear have appeared as the most adorable cartoon characters on the television and the silver screen.

While drawing the caricature of the animals, the cartoonist has observed certain fundamental rules.
  • The eyes are round large and expressive.
  • The nose tip is shaped like a button and sometimes overhanging.
  • The mouth is wide and teeth are exposed according to facial expression.
The body, legs and feet and the tail are characterized by the animal species. It is essential for the beginners to observe and study the fundamental differences between the animals like the size, shape of the ears, tail, legs, feet and overall appearance.
